Inside this book, you’ll learn:

Great graphics that show you how to determine your dog’s mood
This book was very useful, especially great was the section where all the dog postures are not just described but there are actual illustrations to show the difference between a playing dog and an aggressive dog. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to get a dog and the last section about selecting the right dog is also invaluable information. Thanks

An actually usable User’s Manual for Dogs. Yay!
This reads like a simple User’s Manual for dogs. Which is a very very good thing. Taylor explains how dogs work in clear, concise terms, along with clear, concise info on how we need to behave to best work with them. One of my favorite parts is the clearly-explained and illustrated guide to reading canine body language–like you can literally look at your dog, check the description, and move forward accordingly. Taylor consistently reminds us that dogs aren’t children (aren’t *people*) and need to be treated like *dogs*. This is a great resource for both people new to the dog-owner game, and those who might already have problem companions.

This short and to the point book is great for those looking ahead and planning to get a first dog. It’s also good for those that have taken the plunge and realise that there’s an awful lot about their dog’s behaviour that they don’t understand. There is some repetition in the advice, but then those are the key points to come back to time and again. The bonus section at the back covering what might be the right dog for your circumstances was something that I hadn’t seen before and will use.
