    soft
This self-warming cat mat has been perfect for my 10-pound cats, I bought two, one mat for each cat but they use which ever pleases them. The cats love to keep watch by the backdoor during winter, watching birds feeding in the backyard. The 29.1 x 18.9 inch size provides ample space for them to lounge comfortably while watching the birds. The soft, fluffy texture of the mat seems to be a hit with my cats, making it an inviting place for them to rest. As usual it takes them time to try a new item, but they have started laying on them to watch the birds. One of the best features is the self-warming technology, which provides extra comfort during cold days without requiring any electricity. The non-slip bottom is useful to help keep it in place. I appreciate that the cover is removable and washable, making it easy to maintain cleanliness.Though I have not used outdoors (it is winter here) the seller states it is for indoor and outdoor making giving it great versatility and practical features. Washable, indoor and outdoors features give the mat good value for pet owners looking to provide their furry friends with a cozy spot during colder months.

great option for my cats and dogs during cold winter. Traps and reflects heat. Cozy
As shown and described. Soft fluffy sherpa-like fleece on outside (helps trap heat), interior pad has reflective material (helps reflect heat), slim zipper, slightly grippy bottom.Basically takes the animals heat and helps maintain it by trapping heat and reflecting it back. If animal or environment is actually very cold, then this may not help. For that, you may want to add under it a low watt heated pad. I did this for my elderly cats. They had their favorite place to sleep, and always had both options available 24/7.Good size for any cat and smaller dogs, or larger dogs that dont need their entire body on it. I bought the larger 29″ x 19″ because I figured if I dont use it for my cats, then my southern rescue dog would appreciate it during the cold northern winters. I can put it on my lap or underneath me if no one liked it.But, My cats liked it just fine, they like it tucked into one of their existing beds. However, I also tried it for my dogs, and as anticipated, my 50 lb mega mutt loves it. I usually put a nice blanket down for her on the couch, similar in material as this is, but it has brought her extra pleasure and comfort to have this slim pad to curl up on whether the blanket it there or not. This isnt my first self warming pad. I have others I have used through the years, and wanted another as the others are in specific locations that the cats sometimes use. This one is different in the top material is fluffy, and more flexible than the other two I own. Both styles are good, this one is pricier than the other I linked to. I think if I bought more, it would be this one. I like the added softness and flexibility, where as the other is slightly more firm. Depends on needs and where it is placed. This is neat. I will feel the warmth after she leaves it. I feel it on the top side as well as the underside. It isnt hot or anything, but it really helps the animal to keep their heat. So no loss but no major gain either. I wouldnt use these necessarily for an outdoor animal on its own. Maybe a very low wattage heat pad, then this with it if it is really cold out. Animal needs to already have some heat of their own in order for this to make sense. They cant heat up the pad if they arent warm. If elements strip away the heat, then this may not help them. But for indoor use, especially cooler environments (we keep our house on cooler side in winter) this can help immensely to keep them comfy. Or for those that simply like warmer sleeping arrangements.

Looks Promising, But the Cats Are Still Deciding!
I purchased the Self-Warming Cat Bed to give the feral cats on my porch a cozier option during colder weather. While the product seems fantastic, the cats haven’t made the switch from their old spot yet. Here’s my take so far: 1. Self-Warming Feature: The mat feels warm to the touch after testing it myself, so I’m confident it’ll do a great job once the cats give it a chance. 2. Size and Material: It’s the perfect size for a single cat, and the materials feel sturdy. The removable cover is a big plus for easy cleaning. 3. Attractive Design: It looks clean and inviting, so I’m hopeful the cats will eventually explore it. Maybe they’re just loyal to their old bed for now!I’ll update my review once the cats start using it, but for now, I’m giving it 4 stars for quality and potential. If you’re buying for outdoor or feral cats, just know it might take them a little time to adjust.

    A favorite nap choice!
The pad immediately became a favorite place for our cats, so much so I got another. I like it because it has a nice backing so that when she kneeds with her claws, I don’t feel them. They attest to the warmth factor since they stay on them for long naps. They are well made, and washable (I had to wash one after a hairball was deposited on the pad.) Long story short, these are great!

This actually works and is so soft!
We have a neighborhood cat that I have been so worried about now that it’s cold outside in California.I heard about this little bed/blanket from a friend and took a chance and ordered it .It is a soft , slightly cushioned pillow topper for whatever you lay it on . It’s not super thick so don’t think it’s a bed . When your fur-friend lays on it – it’s heats up to their body temperature .The outdoor kitty actually comes over and her paws and body feel like she was laying on a heat pad and It’s 35 degrees outside . So cool! She absolutely loves it and you will too ! Worth every penny !

TL;DR (for those not up to snuff on online lingo, this means “too long; didn’t read” and summarizes a lengthy post, or in this case, a lengthy review. You’re welcome.)– Gorgeous, soft sherpa or sherpa-like top cover.– The cats use it and will sometimes stay there for a long time.– Try covering it with a pillow case or one of your t-shirts if you’ve given them, say, a week or two and they really don’t seem to be catching on that this is a good thing. Also catnip.– It is not a bed but a pad. You’ll be disappointed if you’re expecting it to be thick like a bed.– It does not heat up on its own but uses the pet’s body temperature to provide heat. Hence the description self-warming or self-heating.– It is not noiseless. There is a quiet crinkle sound.– Overall an excellent purchase and one I highly recommend.I put this on a chair in front of the loveseat where we sit. It took both cats a few days to be brave enough to sit on it (we had placed them on it a few times but they jumped off of it immediately.) Once the cats discovered it for themselves they started lying on that chair when we’re in the room, and will sometimes stay there long after we leave for another part of the house.I bought another one of these of a different brand from Amazon (cheaper than this one) at the same time I ordered this. This one is much nicer, though to be fair the cats seem to like them both equally. I just think the cover of this one is softer and a better quality material. In spite of what the listing says, it is not quiet. There is a crinkle sound. To me it sounds a bit like when you pull apart clothes from the dryer that are stuck together by static cling. It is subtle but worth mentioning for people who can’t tolerate certain sounds. One of my cats kneads it before she lies down on it so I think she likes it. It’s like a crinkly cat toy.I see so many reviews saying the cat didn’t take to it. The key to making it work is just like the real estate mantra: location, location, location. And time. Just let them discover it and try it out themselves. It may take a while but be patient. Put it in a spot you know they like already, or are likely to like. In a sunny spot perhaps, but somewhere near you. Cats want to be in the same room as us, if not right next to us or on our laps. I saw one reviewer say that now her cat lies next to her on the couch since she got the pad. You can always put a pillow case or one of your old shirts on top of it — or wrapped around it — if your cat is fussy about textures and just doesn’t like the top fabric. Also try sprinkling a little catnip on it.Lots of comments in the reviews about it not being thick. It’s a mat, not a bed. You can put it ON a bed if you like but this is not meant to be thick like that, though admittedly they do use the word “bed” in the heading for the listing before they call it a pad.The mat does not heat up. How it works: the bottom of the cover blocks cold, the bottom layer inside reflects the pet’s body heat, the next layer up insulates, and then there’s the top cover, which is the part they lie on and is a beautiful, soft sherpa. It uses the cat’s own body heat to create the warmth. I have one of these I bought years ago that plugs in and even it doesn’t actually heat up but also uses the cat’s body heat & weight (it needs some weight, I guess, for all the layers to work together.)I am impressed. I wasn’t sure if it would flop because I was skeptical that it would stay warm as it says it does, but it works!

Arrived quickly safely rolled in it’s own box with other items PROS:- affordable, gray, self heating mat. Lovely soft top, nubbed bottom to keep in place, washable, no crinkly sounds or other noises. Good size allows pusskin to fully stretch out or curl and snuggle in and enjoy the self heating benefits. CONS:-only one~as another reviewer complained we humans are being ignored now. OUTCOME-:-it was unrolled, fluffed up and placed in one of the bestest snooze spots. it took her 24 hours to discover it without catnip or other enhancements and now it’s the go to spot. I have just ordered another one to put in the house on her cat tree. Excellent pad, soft, about 1.6″ thickness and My Old Girl loves it.

The mat reflects heat back from my cat’s body really well. There is a layer of batting and reflective material inside sewn together as one piece that can be removed for washing the cover. The other benefit is that you can add another layer of batting inside the mat. I made an extra layer, a crochet layer using yarn, thick yarn, to give the mat a little extra stability and even more comfort. It also makes it easier for my cat to crawl on and lie on if the mat is placed on a soft or uneven surface. I did this because she’s using the mat on top of her cat bed. The size is absolutely perfect for a cat. In the past I’ve paid more than double the price of this one for a far inferior product. This mat is much better than other mats I’ve bought in the past. This mat will make my cat’s arthritis so much easier to deal with and help keep any chill out of her bones. She’s already completely asleep on it. Being an older cat, 14 which is the max for her breed, this matters perfect for what I needed to keep her bones from hurting so much as well as to keep the chill out. She likes to lay in the bay window but living In Canada’s far north that can be quite cold for half the year. With this match she’s perfectly comfortable even in the window. I’m so happy with it that I am purchasing a second one right now for my other cat who is not much younger.

It appears to hold heat well. When I place my hand under the cat it feels warmer than normal. Either way, it’s a nice comfy and inexpensive pad for my cats to sleep on so any heat benefits are just a bonus.

I got this for my Queen Esther and praise the Most High she absolutely loves it! She was a little skeptical of it at first and ignored it, but now I literally find her sleeping or playing on it all the time lol Definitely a good purchase for my little Esther. The mat is pretty well made, material is soft and warm. Removable and washable zipper cover is a huge plus! The mat is advertised as non slip, but it’s super light and still easily slides around all over my tile floor so I would suggest reinforcing it with some additional non-slip options for the bottom of it.
