1 Can I use the product directly after opening the package?
No, it takes 24-48 hours for the sponge to regain its shape after vacuum compression packaging, you’d better wait and pat it, or put it under the sunshine for a day.
Will they stay in place or move/slide when the dog is on them?
They have a non-slip bottom. There is a skid plate on each step of the stairs. They are very sturdy and can climb stairs normally
How do you clean it?
You can unzip the cover from the foam cube and wash it in the washing machine.
How hard is it to assemble?
Very simple! It is vacuum sealed and the foam pieces pop right out. You insert the foam and board into the lid and it zips up nice and cozy.

Perfect for senior cats
I ordered these stairs to help my senior cat get onto the bed as it’s a bit too high for her to jump these days. It takes about 24 hours for the foam to shape after taking it out of the vaccuum bag. Once the foam is fully decompressed, it as easy as laying the plastic step plates and putting on the cover. With a few pulls and tucks, the cover looks tight and snug. The height is perfect for my use. I find these to be very study, but my cat is only 12 lbs. I’m not sure how well they would hold up under a 30 lb dog. I appreciated the neautral color options. Overall, I’m very happy with them and my cat now spends hours contently napping on the bed (so she loves them too).

NOT SAFE!!!
This review is for, âYITAHOME 24″ H 5-Tier Dog Steps for Beds and Couches, PP Support Boards with Washable Cover, Non-Slip Foam Pet Stairs for Small and Senior Dogs (Gray, 30″ L x 16″ W)â. These steps are absolutely not safe. The foam is cheap and unstable and there is not any kind of frame or material to give this set of steps any kind of stability. I set this aside to decompress for several days before putting it together. The bottom is not flat and the entire thing rocks back and forth. It can also easily be toppled over sideways if your dog does not stay in the center of the steps. My dog put his foot on the first step and looked at me like I was crazy. I did encourage him to go up them with me sitting right there to keep it from falling over, but he has no interest in using them. I ordered them for my sonâs room because they are the height of my sonâs window. We have a couch in another room that backs up to a window and my dog likes to lie on the back of the couch to stare out the window. I thought these steps would be nice for him to be able to see out my sonâs window. I did barricade the steps into place but my dog does not trust them and wonât use them. (When I brought them into my sonâs room and put them in place, my son took one look at them and said, âUh, those look sketchy!â Also, the distance from front to back of each step is about 5 ¾ inches – less than the length of a dollar bill. Again, this is the 5-step set, so the shorter steps might be deeper. I cannot recommend these steps to anyone. They might be ok for a young, agile dog; but at the same time, some small dog breeds have very narrow bones that can easily break, or joints that are less than stable. I just wouldnât risk it. Itâs not worth seeing your pup go flying and hit the ground in an awkward position. We have another set of steps for our master bedroom that are completely stable. There are better options out there.

Loaded
I received the dog stairs yesterday. I too them out of the box and the vacuum sealed bag. I received all of the items necessary for putting the steps together. The steps require 24 to 72 hours to complete decompression. While the completion of the decompression is loading, I am anxiously awaiting my sweet puppy to be able to use the to climb onto my bed. Hopefully she likes it. The price is nice. The quality is very good. I do wish the color selection was better. I wanted black but went with gray. The color was not a deal breaker, was just preferred. Good buy for small pet ownersEdited: It has been several weeks and the steps are finally decompressed. They are not perfectly straight or flat and I have not attempted having my sweet puppy girl climb them yet. She’s a bit nervous about the stability.

OK, Caution With Senior/Disabled Pets
The main body of the stairs is a memory foam that isn’t vacuum packed but is compression rolled. It will require a few days to fully restore its permanent shape. The cover is a slide-over fabric that zips closed and has woven compartments for plastic inserts to provide a solid base on each step. This can, under ideal circumstances, hold a fair bit of weight. The world isn’t always perfect though. If stepped on at the sides, there is little rigidity for the base of the stairs and it can easily lean/fall to the side. This could be very bad for fragile senior/disabled pets. For little pets that are healthy and mobile, this is a very durable and convenient stepper that is all one unit and can literally be tossed around without any worry.Easily removable cover for cleaning is a great plus too.

Surprisingly sturdy! Shame my dog won’t use it!
I got this because I have a pit bull and pitties are really susceptible to hip issues as they get older and I figured it’d be a good way to reduce some hip strain now and start prepping for when his hips are worse in years to come. It was easy as heck to get it together- take it out of the bag and the foam inflates automatically over a couple days, then you put a cover on it, bingo- and shockingly sturdy once we did; these are made for smaller dogs than mine but it still easily holds his weight! The problem is just that he won’t use the darn thing and unless you’re plying him with treats he just jumps on and off the bed anyways. Maybe it’ll grow on him… but at least the problem isn’t the stairs!
