    Doggies love it
Ladies, this doggie door was easy to install and looks great. I did it myself and it took less the an hour. The material is sturdy…would have liked two doors but one does the job. Door seals nicely so as not to allow any air flow.

    Perfect!
Exactly like our old one that lasted about 15 years with a couple of flap replacements over the years. Very well made and not even the slightest drafts no matter how cold and windy it gets outside here in the northeast winters

    Perfect replacement
Bought this to replace the one originally installed by my builder – 10 years ago!! Magnets on the bottom finally broke and wouldn’t hold the flaps in.Easy of installation: Took me 5 min to replace existing door. Flaps seem sturdier than the original. And now I have 2 covers for inside and out without having to buy a spare!Sturdiiness: I have a 75 Aussie who hits this door at full speed, going in and especially going out. The first one lasted 10 years, I fully expect this one to last too.Weatherproof: Flaps can blow in strong winds. Mine goes between the dining room and screened patio so isn’t really an issue. There have been times though when really strong storms come in, where I lock it down to keep the wind out and the dogs in – but there is no way any item like this is going to be 100% weatherproof and anyone buying something like this should not complain if it isn’t. They should buy electronic doors with collars that open as the dog approaches instead. My dogs love the freedom of going in and out at will. I love the freedom of being able to be late from work without worries. Required addition to my home.

    Survived the polar vortex
I waited a year to review this product just so I could be sure to test it in the harshest conditions. We live in wisconsin, and we used to have a sliding door attachment for our Akita/Saint Bernard mix. Every winter we would watch the blizzard roll into our living room, and snuggle under blankets as the frigid icy air blew around our house. Then we installed this, coupled with the wall attachment. It’s first winter experienced the 2019 polar vortex, of which we were placed right in the center. On top of that we had a brand new baby in the house. It was -50° outside, with snow, wind, and all around Wisconsin winter yuckiness. We had to keep our house at 75° for the new baby. That’s a 125° difference in temperature! The dog door did great. Our poor hairy mut would go outside and pee icicles then come back in, no snow, no wind no nothing. Buy this product it works! (Ps the magnets are strong enough for the wind, but easy enough that both my cats can make it through as well)

Once it is done, It is good
We moved into a new house about four months ago and just had a temporary sliding door insert. After researching the doors, I narrowed it down to the Ruff-Weather Pet door because of price, what seemed like better quality than others, and reviews. The Good: Great quality of plastic. It is thick, sturdy, and seems to be of good quality. I really liked that the outside door as a rubber gasket seal on it so it can tighten to the wall, and even fill in the crevices of the stucco on our house (desert home in Las Vegas). The instructions were very easy to read and concise. LOVE the tinted flaps. From past experience, dog doors with clear flaps show a lot of the dirt and grime build up from wet noses, whereas I think the darker tint will help block hide that. The Bad: Honestly, the only problem I had with this is the template was not lined up properly. The lines for the cross hairs to make screw points center were off and not lined up properly on the template. This meant that when it got flipped to the other side, the holes were even further off. Lots of adjustments had to be made after cuts were done, but finally got it after a little bit of work.I would recommend this product, however if installing yourself (or whoever does it), I would suggest looking VERY carefully at the template before making any cuts.

These last decades with no problems
I installed one of these almost 20 years ago and had up to 4 dogs at once living here all this time. Never felt a breeze or had any problems, never replaced flaps in all that time. Anyway I had new doors installed and was going to use same dog door, but decided to just buy a new one, as it looked pretty bad. Was thrilled when I found the exact same dog door, don’t change what works. Highly recommend, live in western Washington, snow and such. This dog door makes for happy pets, even my cats come a go through this thing. My 80lb Catahoula, biggest dog yet pops in and out at well as my Shepard.

Great Dog door for a medium Doberman
We purchased the door and the wall installation kit since we were installing it in an exterior wall. Installation went smoothly. The dog took to the door immediately and prefers the dog door over any other door.

    Great size
I’m replacing my door and decided to get this dog door. The door will be installed in a few weeks, I can’t wait to see how well it works! It has a dual flap system so it should be better for keeping the weather out! It’s also big enough for the dogs. The big dogs were having to shimmy through the old one… It was amusing watching them, but this one will be a much better size for them. 😁

Installed this just in time before the cold of winter set in. The double flap has weirded some dogs out a little (different therefor bad), while others barrel on through like champions. It took my Kelpie about a week to get the confidence to go through the door on her own without a cheer squad.Meanwhile the Golden Retriever barrelled on through like a pro. I think he has helped teach my girl how it all works and that there’s nothing to be worried about. Now all the dogs can come and go without me having to open the door every 5 mins.I’ve also had an Irish Wolfhound x Staghound bend his legs to squeeze through this door. All up, it might take a bit longer

Installed easily and actually has a good weather seal like claimed.
