    Best nail grinder ever
I don’t leave a lot of reviews. But I had to for this Lucky Tail nail grinder. This nail grinder is absolutely AWESOME! First off I will say if you use it, it will take time. Not a quick grind and go. It has 2 speeds to use. It will grind a big dogs nails but it will take longer then for a small dogs nails. But the time it takes to grind down each nail has been a more relaxing experience for me then clipping my dogs nails. My dogs have always been the run and hide, and very uncooperative with this chore. not to mention a lot easier on my back because I had to bend certain ways to acuminate the dogs position. LOL My 1 and a half year old Chihuahua took to it really fast. (2nd time he came to me as wanting to have his nails done!) My bigger dog who is 6 years old is still adapting. But I have no fear that she will soon realize there is no pain involved. She tolerates it a little bit at a time still, She has had her quick nipped a few times from clipping them by both me and the vet. So she is gun shy with her nails. I used it on her 3 times now, but I am able to do her nails better and longer each time we set aside to do them. I love that the protective cover on the grinder part used to grind the nail has 2 places for the nail to be inserted to get grinded. One on the side , one on the top. You can also take this protective cover off and use it as a bare grinder. But I like the cover over the grinder. Then there is a protective cap to put on the whole grinder itself when not in use. If your dog has a lot of hair on their paws you need too trim that hair before using because the grinder or it will grab up that hair and get it caught up in the grinder, if your dog yanks his paw away there is not safety turn off, the grinder will keep pulling that hair until you shut it off or it cuts the hair off. I have a older Shih Tzu I have to be careful with him. Nothing happened with my dog, but the grinder did get caught in a blanket I put down and it did not shut off. It made me aware of what could happen. This nail grinder is so quiet and the vibration is extremely low and mild. I did interduce it to my dogs without using it for a few days before I actually started using it on them. They were not freaked out at all. But I took my time to make sure they were use to the sound and vibration anyway. I also love how smooth it make their nails and how they look when finished. All in all it took me 15-25 minutes or so each dog. Compared to drama I had before, LOL I no longer have to have my husband help hold them to do their nails, no fighting to keep their paw in grip, no dog getting away to hide. We can sit on the sofa and watch TV while doing it because it is cordless, you can’t even really hear the grinder going with the TV on, and barely feel it. Grant that it makes a powder from the nail grinding, easily vacuumed up with a hand held vacuum when done, (that my dogs do not like at all. LOL) or just lay a old blanket or something like down to clean up the mess if doing it inside. I have not had it run out of charge while doing all 3 of my dogs in one sitting. 1st time took about a couple of hours on and off. So that is a plus that it stayed charged in that time. I did have to stop a lot to see how close to the quick I was, some of my dogs nails are the very black kind, so this was a lot of why it took so long. I did purchase extra grinders, one smooth and one rough. but the one that this grinder came with is still good. I just wanted back ups on hand. I hope if you purchase this grinder that you will have a positively good experience with it as I am. I am very glad and relived I decided to give this Lucky Tail nail grinder a try. It has made my dogs and I have whole lot less stress doing this chore.

This is an awesome pet nail grinder!
I have four small dogs R right now. This was the fastest, easiest nail trimming job I have ever done.It is quiet as advertised, and the dogs seemed a lot calmer. It was so nice not to have to take our dogs to the vet and sedate them before they would trim their nails!Awesome product and I will highly recommend it to others.

The lord heard my prayers, but …
So I purchased this grinder before I gave up hoping that one day my dog would let me trim his nails without it being a frustrating, stressful and at times traumatic for both of us.I used to take my dog to the vet for nail trimming, and not only it was expensive, but my dog fought and cried and yelped during the entire process I knew I just could not put my dog through it every 3 weeks. I tried to clip his nails at home but it was just an impossible task. My dog would just start yelping even before I even touched the nail to the clipper! So I bough a nail trimmer (cant remember the brand) but my dog would just start running under the sofa to the sound of the trimmer. When I somehow managed to hold my dog and use the nail trimmer, it was awkward to hold and loud I gave up using it.I tried using the over the counter nail filing sticks for human nails but that was a complete failure as well. After reading hundreds of reviews for nail trimmers I sort of prayed the Lucky Tail trimmer was the right choice, and the lord heard my prayers. This trimmer has made a Huge difference! Its quiet and easy to hold. Instructions say that one must make the dog acquainted with the trimmer before trying to use it. I first introduced my do to the trimmer by letting him sniff it and “touch it” at least once per day for 3 or four days. The following 3 days I would turn the trimmer on and off so my my dog would get familiar with the sound – not touching the trimmer to the paws yet. Note that I used tiny pieces of bacon during the process so my dog related the sound of the trimmer to the sweet taste of bacon :)Without removing the trimmer’s cap, I turned it on and gently touched the trimmer to the bottom of the paw, followed by a small piece of bacon. I did this several times during the day for 2 or 3 days. My next step was turning the trimmer on and touch the trimmer to the nail – without removing the trimmer’s cap- followed by a piece of bacon . After a week and a half – sort of- I turned on the trimmer, removed the trimmer’s cap and started gently filing one nail for just a second or two followed by a piece of bacon. To my surprise my dog just stayed still eager to get some bacon and did not mind the trimmer at all! So I can now say that my dog enjoys getting his nails filed! I cant even imagine how I dealt with stressful and frustrating nail trimmings for years unnecessarily. The only reason I give the Lucky Tail trimmer 4 starts is because the nail grinder head that comes with the grinder is not coarse enough and it takes a white to file the nail down “efficiently”. It does work, but it takes a while. Also, there are no Extra Hard nail grinder heads sold individually or packs of Extra Hard nail grinder heads. I had to purchase a 3 pack with a soft, med and hard nail trimmer heads but I know I will only use the hard one and the medium one.LuckyTail, Please make 3 packs of the Extra Hard nail trimmer heads!!! ( or send me some free ones since I most likely will throw away the Med and soft nail trimmer heads I buy.Excuse my typos 🙂

    Great product.
So easy and quiet. My dog didn’t mind the process at all. Quiet and quicker than regular clippers.

Positives: Beautiful Packaging, unit fits good in the hand, protective cover over the grinding stone/bit & comes with a charging cable.Cons: No Charger included, Old outdated Charging port option, charging port in an awkward position/location, don’t include different stone grit options (only included pre-assembled stone bit), no directions how to change stone/bit. No charger or charging stand holder option (either table/wall mounted). My opinion, being that it’s advertised as a Premium Tool, one would expect up-to-date technology/hardware, an opportunity to try optional stones being included with purchase. Update to follow, once unit has fully charged.UPDATE!! “AMAZING” performance!Extremely quiet! Zero vibration!Still stand firm on CONS mentioned previously.Adding ONE Additional CON!Although, the shape of this power tool is ergonomically designed for comfort, it lacks in grip. I have had to modify mine with silicone strips/stickers. It kept shooting out of my hand, like a 3 year old learning to eat a banana! 😂I would like the seller/manufacturer contact me & justify not offering/ including optional grinding bits, & instructions how to change them.I “DO RECOMMEND” THIS TOOL FOR “EVERYONE’S” FUR BABY/BUDDY!THEY WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT!

Perfect little tool to keep my dogs nails trimmed. He won’t let us cut them but wasn’t phased by this. The noise level is very low and there is almost no vibration.

  8. Zahra

I have this for over 6 months now. It works very good and low noize. I am using it for my indoor kitty.

I like this unit. It is lightweight, quiet, and feels very well balanced & comfortable to hold. The led light is a nice addition, to help me see what I’m doing. The battery holds a charge well, and the box is sturdy & safe for storage. But — I’m using it instead of clippers and it takes a LONG time to grind through my 18lb Cavalier’s nails. He is still getting used to it, so we only do one or two feet at a time. It takes maybe 30-45 seconds of grinding on each nail, which may not sound like much, but the rotation creates friction so you have to keep pausing every few seconds to let the nail cool down. We are getting better, and can do one foot in about 10-12 min now. There’s no way I would use this to trim a larger dog’s nails, it would take way too long- I’d go with a higher powered Dremel. But for grinding a small dog’s nails in lieu of clipping, or for smoothing a larger dog’s nails AFTER clipping, to smooth rough edges, this would probably work well.
