Absolutely love! And so do my cats!
Love this camera and the treat function! I love that I can schedule treats to fling even when I am not home.

    Bites 2 lite
I recently purchased a Petcube bites 2 lite. I was really excited when I read what this product could do! Night vision cam, 1080p, 2 way audio AND a treat dispenser! I thought wow! This is exactly what I need for when I transition back to the work place after working from home for so long to keep an eye on my puppy. This was product was easy to set up and get connected. However, I can only connect to the product when I’m at home and on the same wifi network…if I’m on the go I constantly receive the “connecting…” or “getting video…” message but the product fails to connect. I decided to contact support and that’s when I was told that the system requires 2 Mbps Internet connection for upload and download speeds but 4 Mbps is recommended for both. I live in a rural area and my cellular speeds aren’t always guaranteed to provide me the minimum speed needed to connect while I’m out of the home. So basically I have a treat dispenser only when I’m at the house and I can only see my pet when in the house with him. This makes this purchase useless in my opinion and a waste of money but it works great at home!***After working with the support team at Petcube they were able to push out a device system update and it now works using my mobile data! I’m upgrading this from 3 stars to 5 stars!*** They even provided me 3 months of their Care Awake plan! Thank you Petcube!

A solid 4 star for cats
Above all else it does what I wanted it to do. Dispenses treats when I am away and allows me to look in on my cat. It has a camera (including a decent night vision), and the audio allows for listening and speaking.I am rating this for use with a cat. One issue I notice is the “low treats” monitoring function. The sensor is pretty high up in the container. My cat treats are small and even if I put a whole bag in, it sometimes barely even reaches up to the sensor. This causes the “low treats” to always be on unless I really fill that thing up.One other issue is I’ve found is that the smallest treat hopper is still a little too big for my cat treats. I modified mine just a little bit to make the small opening a little bit smaller, which seems to cut back on giving far more treats than I want it to. Otherwise it was dumping 6 or more treats at a time. Now it’s usually giving around 4. I’d prefer to give around 2 but I can work with this. One thing that may or may not be an issue is these treats can fly! My little cat treats were flung across the room, even when using the least distance treat giving setting. I again modified and created a little paddle near the output. Now instead of the treat flying it hits the paddle and drops to the ground much closer to the dispenser. This allows me to keep the treats closer to the camera to see my cat and make sure the treats dispense.Overall this is a great product and does exactly the prime functions I wanted it to. I think they should consider making a smaller version specifically oriented towards cats and smaller treats to accommodate the slight issues noted above, but it’s not the end of the world. My cat loves it.

    Amazing Product & Support
After having the Petcube for almost a year our dog absolutely loves it. We enjoy being able to be away and send him treats and watch his reaction. Such a great treat dispenser. After 11 months the motor that dispenses the treats quit working. I contacted support and they were amazing. I shipped back the broken unit and a new replacement was at my home days later. Their team responded to email extremely quickly and were great!

Stopped working completely after 1.5 years, audio has never worked. Not worth the cost.
**Update: my second bites2 camera that I got just a few months ago now has the same exact issue. It connected fine to my wifi for a few months, and now suddenly won’t connect anymore despite no changes to my network. I’ve now paid for 2 cameras that have been defective. The audio has never worked on either of them, unless I’m on wifi (which I almost never am when I’m out and needing to hear my pet). When I had the last issue, petcube sent me a regular petcam to try as well, but the audio doesn’t work on that one either. Super disappointed in this product, the app glitches a lot, the connectivity issues, and the audio issues make it totally not worth the cost, especially with all the other products out there.**Edited to add: the customer service team for petcube has been very responsive. Unfortunately they said my device was out of warranty because I had it for over a year, so they would not replace it and did not have any fixes for the sudden wifi connectivity issue. They sent me a new device for half price, but the audio still doesn’t work and there is still no fix for that, so they included a second camera (just the basic camera, not the treat launcher one) for free so we could connect both and have audio. The new Bytes2 camera is having some connectivity problems here and there and I get a frozen feed a lot, but at least it’s something. I hope they can get all the kinks worked out and release a new version of the bytes2 because i has really great, useful features. I like the treat flinger, the camera quality is great when it works, the nightvision is great, and the alerts are great for sound/motion.Super bummed by this because I really like all the features this camera has, but it’s been problematic from the start. The sound only ever worked if I was on wifi for some reason, so I couldn’t hear or speak through the microphone unless I had a wifi connection on my own phone, which I often don’t when I’m out. I spoke to the company after I got my petcube and they said this was a known issue but they didn’t have a fix. I figured I could live with that because I needed the video and treat launch function the most. Last week after only having the device for a year and a half, it started clicking on and off over and over and flashing a yellow light. The camera will not connect ever since. I spoke to the company and did some troubleshooting and they said that it has a “defective wifi module.” They offered to send a new one, then took the offer back and said that because I have had the camera for over a year that they won’t replace it. Super disappointed- for the price, I would expect this device to last longer than a year and a half and I don’t really want to spend $150 again to have the same thing happen. I’m especially disappointed because I am a dog trainer and use this camera a lot, and just had my who Guide Dogs club purchase a bunch of these, and I’ve been recommending them to clients. Knowing now that they break so easily through no fault of my own, and won’t get replaced, I’m going to find something else to recommend to clients. Too bad because this design has some really useful features and the video quality was good. My dog is going to be pretty sad that the “treat ghost” won’t be visiting anymore.

Bought this for my fiancé and our loveable 70lbs Standard poodle puppy. I am used to having wireless cameras around and am pretty used to their function, however I wasn’t expecting much from this treat camera. Boy was I wrong! First very wide angle camera without much distortion or fisheye in the middle. The setup was EASY. The app is very user friendly, picture quality is VERY good, and the puppy loves it! The treat launcher is powerful so if you have a small room just be aware. I also like how more then one treat comes out at once, it keeps him distracted for longer and we just use his kibble so not too worried about the extra calories! The speaker on the camera is powerful and clear. We use the app all the time even when we are in the same room as him, just to distract him when he starts to bark. Last thing, it allows multiple people to share the feed if you both want access to the video feed. 10/10 would recommend!

makes going to work a bit easier when I can check in on my fur baby. He loves when I toss him treats when I am at work and I have the treat dispenser set up to send him treats after breakfast, mid-day and right before I get home from work.

The video function, including sharing with family members, is working as expected. The night vision works great too. Connectivity is quite reliable. I had a hard time finding the right treats to fling reliably. Eventually found quite spherical hard treats. The delay between choosing to reward and the fling is not ideal, but it is definitely getting the job done!

I just got the machine and I see a lot of flaws and a lot of good things.Good things:- Size of the treats tank- App is easy to use-Imagine quality is good (day/night)- Powered by USB-CBad things:- Not secure: my two cats smacked the petcube on the floor the moment they sensed that there was food in there. thankfully the machine was not broken but they could have made some damage.- The rectangular shape of the machine makes it easily subject to drop if a cat or dog lean on it just a little bit. It is frustrating if you left home and cant monitor your pets because they pushed the machine.- The treats tank is not secure: My two cats were able to open it without pushing it on the floor (because its tapped now). They still managed to open the top.- The camera wont zoom, move at all so you might have to place it in a weird position to capture the area you want. This can ruined you home staging. The machine is very big for what it does. its not very elegant (less than a thought).- Treats size: It is not made for cat treats, sometime it can shoot 6 treats…. Idk why but the amount of treats is not consistent (min: 2, max:6), I would have liked to have some adjustments so that I can shoot 1 treat at a time.Price: kind on pricy for what it does. it is comparable to other similar product but now that I have one I feel that they are all too pricy.Petcube contacted me after reading this review and provided a top notch service. I recommended the productThanks for reading, I hope it was helpful

  10. Aim

Works great as a camera and a treat dispenser. Does not let you listen in or talk to your pet unless you’re on the same wifi network as the camera which is useless for remote check ins. Doesn’t store photos or videos, had to rely on screen shots and recorders for that. The motion detection feature is great and is adjustable. Sound detection goes off if standing air exists in the room and is not adjustable at all. If you want to talk and listen to your pet get an Echo Show and use the drop in feature for a video call. Works like a charm. If you don’t believe me go check out the reviews on the Petcube app at the app store. I returned this device and am actively recommending others not to buy.
