Decent, inexpensive camera
This camera is similar to other security cameras that I’ve used. Resolution is good enough and motion detection is on point. It recognizes the difference between a person and an animal (well, most of the time). There’s an app that is needed to use the camera, which is fairly east to use. In order to save vids or recording for 7 days, there’s a $42.99 yearly fee. I was under the impression that there was a free trial so I gave it a try, but was charged the $42.99. The app store (iphone) reimbursed me, but still not sure if there was supposed to be a free trial and it didn’t work, or if there isn’t one and I just got it wrong.Ultimately, the camera and the service is inexpensive compared to some others and the quality is comparable.

Disclaimer: I received the product (Alaga 2K Indoor Security Camera, Baby Monitor, Dog monotor,AI Motion Detection, 2-Way Audio, Night Vision, Indoor Camera with Phone App, Works with Alexa and Google Home) at much reduced financial burden from Amazon’s Vine Voices program in exchange for an honest review.Summary: I would keep shopping. Itâs not the worst Iâve seen, but I donât strongly recommend it.Pricing Opinion: At time of receipt, it was priced at 20 USD. That is actually on the higher end of prices for a single 2K auto-night-vision camera. I do think the build quality is pretty good, but the app drove me so crazy, so I would say look elsewhere.Pro:+The marker for the SD card is oriented the right way to guide insertion. It’s the little things!+Other than the shady marketing behaviors and the problem with setting up the camera, the app is easy to use+Pretty good camera quality. 2304 by 1296 pixel, 15 fps.+Great night vision+The set up audio instructions are actually helpful, which is rare+The build feels goodCon:-App is really, really crappy–Tried to force me into buying things–Advertisements everywhere-I unplugged it and since then I had to reset the camera, and for a while it doesn’t work, just gets stuck in setup in the app. Eventually, after several restarts, it worked. I am not eager to have to do this again the next time I unplug the thing.-If the power dies, the device can (inconsistently) re-connect on next power up, which is great. If the router and the power dies, the device WILL NOT START RECORDING TO CARD UNTIL IT RECONNECTS. Very annoying vulnerability.-I wish they had put in bandpass filters to control the visible red light. Itâs really unpleasant to see demon eyes glaring at me as I walk down a dark hallway at night.-Bad speaker quality

Using this for a way to check on our cat during the day.Easy set up with instructions. Need wi-fi connection with password to make it work. SD card slot to store images or you can pay for cloud storage. Also need a smartphone or device you can download the app.Blue “on” indicator light and 4 lights when connecting.Compact size and includes power cord and USB adapter.When checking audio, you cannot be in the same room as you get feedback sounds.Hoping to use this when we travel too.Great for the price. Would recommend.
