I got this reinforced baby gate to go in between our open living room into the kitchen atea. It is 120 inchs long and it is retractable. It serves as more of a protective gate in our house. It is a great way to keep my kids.safe and contained.away from the dangers of my kitchen and it.is also very convenient to use.The gate is very easy to setup just follow the instructions provided, they are simple and easy to understand. All the necessary hardware is included. The gate is versatile it can be used in doorways, hallways, and even stairs. It is also very easy to retract, so it does not take up a lot of space when it is not in use.The gate is made of a sturdy mesh material that has been strong enough to withstand the most active toddler constantly trying to climb up it. It also has a reinforced bottom bar that prevents pets from crawling under it.So far this gate has been erffective at helping to keep my child contained and safe. He can not climb over it or crawl under it, and he has not able to reach or grab anything that he shouldn’t.The gate is also very easy to clean. I usually just use lysol wipes or a damp cloth works fine too. I have even used my steam cleaner and it was effective for cleaning and sanitizing.I am happy with my purchase of this retractable gate overall. Safety is always the number one priority when it comes to my kids. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a protective gate for their kids.

Not a “GATE”, but a ‘barrier.’
UPDATE: The seller contacted me soon after my product review to offer assistance and help resolve any issues I was having with this product. Their responses were quick and earnest, which I find refreshing in today’s market. The seller also offered a full refund, even though I still find this product very useful for other applications. Good Customer Support is a huge benefit when purchasing from an online merchant, so I’ve upgraded my rating.This gate/barrier is not recommended for use where it will be open/closed often. If installed with perfect alignment, it is still not suitable for areas that require multiple passage. Though it looks very easy to use, even one-handed, that is most often not the case.This is not a gate, but a barrier. Itâs not designed for heavy traffic areas. You MUST hold on to the barrier when opening and closing it, unlike a gate. So, unless you plan to always have at least one hand free to hold on to the material, it will otherwise fall limply to the floor. However, if you have one hand free to hold the material while opening/closing the barrier, it will often work, satisfactorily.Retracting the barrier will require tension realignment, which can be, and often is, a pain in the rear. Too much tension, and the barrier is difficult to open or close. Not enough tension, and the barrier will sag.For under $40, this is a nice solution as a small pet barrier in low traffic areas. (Like, outside, or to restrict pet access in an area you also donât need access to.) But if youâll be passing through this barrier on a regular basis, spend the extra money for a gated barrier, which is far easier to use and much nicer looking. In my opinion, this shouldnât even be listed as a baby gate and Iâd steer clear of this if thatâs your intention.

At 16 feet in length when completely extended, it easily across the wide aperture with no holes for our inquisitive toddler or the dog to get inside. The knowledge that my cat and kid are securely confined to their allotted spaces, avoiding any accidents or unwanted entry into places that can be dangerous, gives me a wonderful feeling of comfort. Another feature I like is the retractable mechanism. When not in use, it enables the gate to be neatly tucked away, preserving the visual appeal of our house without making the gate an eyesore. It took me just a few minutes to set it up to the correct length without any problems, which is praiseworthy for how simple it is to modify the length. Extra stability is also provided by the support rods, which guarantee that the gate stays securely in place even when pushed or tugged by energetic kids or animals. Even with the thorough instructions, precise alignment of the gate needs some perseverance and small tweaks to where the support rods are positioned. Despite this first difficulty, the gate works well once it is fitted. The materials seem solid and premium, suggesting long-term durability and consistent performance.

Quality workmanship and Design
I bought these retractable gates, 1 for my front porch, and 3 for my back deck. My son has installed 2of them so far and I am extremely impressed with their quality, design and apparent ease of installation ( I hold the screws and give moral support).I would highly recommend them, and I rarely write a review.

Works great for high baseboards!
I live in a prewar apartment and the baseboard are old, thick and extend higher up than average baseboards. Therefore having a retractable gate with adjustable bottom bracket worked perfectly when it came to installation of this gate. I purchased this to keep my two maltipoos out of other areas when needed. It extends and locks beautifully and with the inserted supports along the width, there is no sagging at all. The color is quality and looks great with my decor. Definitely does the job. Recommended.
