After 2-weeks installed review
Bought it for a homemade chicken coop, seems to be working fine. The metal case gets a little hot (I tend to over-engineer things to be on the safer side; I put up a 24″x24″ piece of sheet metal behind it & used 3/4″ spacer sleeves between it & the sheet metal.)My only initial complaints are:1) after a while, ALL lights turn off (including temperature) so if it’s reached its targeted temperature and shuts off, there’s not a easy visual way to verify it’s still on from a distance; you have to press one of temperature buttons.2) the corrugated cord protector (to prevent chews/being pecked at) only covers about 12″ from the unit, it doesn’t cover the full length of cord.3) there’s not a means of ‘filtering’ the incoming air. Being that it’s being marketed for enclosed spaces like dog houses, chicken coups, other smaller animal shelters; there’s going to be dust/floating particle debris that’s going to get sucked in & accumulate over a period of time. It’ll probably do a number on the fans eventually and build-up on the heating element. There really isn’t an easy way to do any light/preventative maintenance/cleaning other than hitting it with an air hose if you have one that’ll reach, otherwise you just have to completely un-mount it, and try to disassemble it or replace it.The (2) fans are kinda loud, but not excessively. They’re basically computer cooling fans. I do kind of worry about how easy they’ll be to replace when they eventually fail.Overall: mixed feelings… Could’ve been a little better long-term design, but we live in a disposable society and have to deal with ‘what will work for now?’ until it fails and we have to find something else to replace it with. ð

Works great
I bought this for a medium sized cat house, roughly 2 feet long x 1 1/2 feet wide that came with the plug-in warming pad. We had a stretch of very cold weather (got down to -6 degrees), and this heater kept the cat house between 67 and 73 degrees (had it set for 71 degrees). It’s been running for several weeks now with no problems. The roughly 10 inch x 10 inch size fit perfectly inside the house.I use a weather station sensor inside of the house to monitor the temperature and it stays fairly consistent.

Works well in the dog kennel

Unit defective and replacement unit defective.
First unit fan would not shut off. Replacement unit increase temperature button was broken and housing had been spot painted to hide blemishes. Would not recommend.

just what we needed
The heater was easy to install and ran quietly and effectively. The dog runs strait for the heated doghouse now when it is cold outside.
