Great videos
I have some old Yi Cams and wanted to replace them since they werenât allowing footage review on sd cards all of a sudden and frankly needed better video quality. Seen this Kasa Spot cam, bought 1 to try and was impressed at the video quality especially at night! I face them all outside from indoors. Came back and ordered 3 more and added sd cards to all of them. Great quality with friendly prices and super easy setup to boot!

Very simple and portable camera
Definitely worth the money, and works fantastic. It is unable to move camera position remotely, (there are other Kasa cameras with that feature), so we use this as our portable baby monitor when we are on the go. It has night vision, and we can put a microSD card in it for recording. One thing I don’t like about it is that it has no support for 5ghz Wifi band, only 2.4ghz.

So far, so good
Can’t control length of recording. But still, quality image, great sound, only $3.00/month/camera to save clips to cloud for 30 days. I just use it to keep an eye on pets. Can’t have it monitored like Ring or anything. But good for just watching pets. Also, two way audio, so you can talk to pets.

Great Camera with a nearly fatal flaw
For price/performance this is a tough camera to beat. The image quality is excellent and, so far, network connectivity has been solid. Night vision is solid but we found the motion detection to be hit and miss. We are playing around with the length and sensitivity settings so we might be able to tweak this in so it performs well. So what is the (near) fatal flaw? The microphone. To be fair the microphone is excellent. Like crazy excellent. As in we can hear ourselves clearly on the app from several rooms away excellent. While disconcerting that isn’t the worst of it: you can’t turn it off!!! You can set it not to record but you can’t actually turn it off! Crazy! How is that acceptable on any level?Well, it is not so I covered it. It is very easy to find; it is the little hole on the front bottom left of the device. Personally I used a small silicone foot that I had laying around but I’m sure I could’ve used some tape and cotton (or something to baffle the sound). I only docked one star for this egregious fault because it was so easy to fix. To be clear I did quite a bit of searching on how to disable it through software but the support folks in the Kasa forums are quite adept at intentionally misunderstanding the questing and answering an adjacent question (No Ms. Solla-topee, nobody is asking about how turn off ‘recording audio’ -we want to SHUT IT OFF COMPLETELY….sorry about that).Anyway, the only other issue we had probably won’t be a problem for other people which is the IR LEDs night vision are very (very) bright. We’re using this camera to look out to our front walkway which means it is mounted in a window and when it goes into night vision mode we only see the reflection. I have a work around for that too and since, in standard uses, bright IR would be a good thing certainly didn’t dock a star.Another bonus is that the cloud service is completely optional. We are using an SD card and just saving locally. Seems to work well. On a side note, there are three video resolutions available: WQHD (2560×1440) which they erroneously call 2K (2K is a digital cinema standard that is 2048âÃâ1080), 1080p/Full HD (1920×1080 as long they are following the standard), and 720p/HD (1280Ã720 as long as they are following the standard). If you have a laggy network, old phone, or a small SD card you should consider one of the lower resolutions.Overall I would recommend this unit so long as you:A. Don’t care about the always on audio orB. Don’t mind covering the microphone.

I love it so far!
At first I was frustrated that it wouldnât connect to the WiFi just found out itâs person error. Once everything was connected showed me how I can install it to the wall or anywhere else. The video quality is great. It does require a subscription if you want to get better updated with motion and saves the videos can watch later. The sd card helps with saving the recordings and better response. If you get it on the deal now itâs definitely worth the money.Itâs on the smaller size but thatâs perfect if youâre looking to put a camera in a tight space. The night time quality could be better but you have to put the camera in a position where itâs brighter in the room to see everything.

All of our home security is KASA
We have over 10 of these in our house and absolutely love them. One of the best things is that they donât require a subscription service. The cameras have worked excellently for us with almost no issues. Image quality is great, and the app for playback is smooth and usually lag-free.The only trouble weâve had was during rolling blackouts, which occasionally caused some devices to unpair and need resetting. In a few cases, the power issues also corrupted the micro SD cards, which was unfortunate but not the camerasâ fault. Overall, weâre big fans of the Kasa systemâitâs been a reliable setup for us.

This camera is a great starting point. Cannot zoom in to see clear details at 150m away. Sometimes the recording of the video is choppy and not smooth, but better than nothing.

Works amazing, picks up and notifies my of noises, motion and people. Not sure what Iâd do without it.My only wish is that the power plug wasnât so big, awkward and ugly. Cord length is great though.

I thought I was buying from Amazon and did not realize when I found a better deal on the same page that it was a 3rd party seller.Long story short I purchased this to use as a baby monitor and realized I could not see all angles of the room, a security issue in my mind.I tried returning the camera and the seller says I am subject to a restocking fee, shipping fees to Quebec and that it is my problem I bought a product that does not work for me.To buy from this seller, you must be 100% certain you will not change your mind as these fees are meant to deter returns.
