   Pros and cons – better for a dog?
   As a confirmed crazy cat lady, I’ve got opinions about pet carriers. This one does not really feel optimized for cats — perhaps it is more for dogs?Pros:- Sturdy construction — I don’t worry that a zipper will bust any moment or that the whole thing will collapse (yes, I’ve seen carriers that flimsy. This carrier has strong connections and seems thoughtfully put together (mostly)- The pulling handle is easy to attach and remove — with a simple button and click-on system the luggage-pulling handle is easy enough to attach and remove that the whole thing *can be used easily either for shoulder-carrying or rolling. There are little velcro straps to keep the handle upright. The wheels are also easy enough to insert and remove. Pretty versatile, that.- Lots of different configurations possible: with the lid, without the lid, hanging from a car seat (definitely not a cat thing)… I can see who some owners would particularly appreciate the versatilityCons:- It’s heavy for what it is. If you’ve got the handles and wheels on it and a critter inside, you *will* need to roll it rather than carry it.- Oddly placed, permanently affixed strap right across the top limits access. While making the strap integral to the carrier increases its structural strength, it means you’re NOT going to get a cat through that top flap. The flap actually zips open *under the wide strap, which is awkward at best. Getting a struggling cat through the small openings left on either side of the strap just isn’t going to happen. You could say, I suppose, that you can take the whole top off and get the cat in that way, but that brings me to my next point…- The zippered lid is tough to get on and off. Since it only has one zipper that goes all the way around, you can’t really partially attach the lid to get a critter in and out. It’s all or nothing. This is particularly an issue because that lid fits very snugly around the metal-framed corners, which makes it fiddly to get closed. Trying to do that with an uncooperative cat would be, let us say, NOT FUN.- Odd proportions — this carrier is nice and wide, but it’s not very high. I assume the critter is intended to use it only while lying down. Usually I’d say it was built this way so it could be used as a carry-on, but it’s much too wide to fit under an airplane seat. I’m confused as to why they would make it uncomfortable for even a small cat to stand up.What I wish:- I wish that the zippers on the thing were two way so that you could close them from either side with the pulls meeting in the middle — preferably with catches to keep the two zipper pulls together.- I wish that big, wide strap across the top was removable or at least *moveable.” I want an easy way to get a protesting cat in and out- I wish it were taller so that the critter could stand and turn easily.

   For cars only. Not easy for air travel at all
   I got this carrier to replace our wheeled carrier for the main purpose of air travel.Pros. Nice collapsible carrier that is great for the car seat. Made of quality materials. Nice fabrics, zippers and handles. Easy to put together.Con’sThe car straps on the sides are not removable or has a place to hide or secure them. If I go to the airport these are going to either drag or be miserable to handle. I would have to cut them to use rollers.The single zipper is cumbersome to get around the corners (super tight). Wish it was a bigger zipper or a little bit looser. The center handle makes it super hard for my dog to go in, even if he isn’t protesting.The main CON for me is the wheels. After traveling with my 15lb dog. I know the amount of room under the seat. There is no time to take wheels on and off. Yes he has to lay down or low clearance but he’s comfortable. I’m going to have to pull off 4 wheels and a handle to keep track of them. Takes too much time to remove and replace anytime I’m getting on and off planes. Also the top frame is not flexible and I truly don’t think I can get it under the seat space (it’s tricky). I wished I read the listing in more detail

   Love This Carrier
   I got this one to keep in the car because the cat distribution system loves me….. This is a great carrier and makes kitty rescue so much easier. Makes loading / unloading much easier and has a long handle! This one is a must have
