    Life-saving gate!
We have our own menagerie, but just adopted our son’s Shiba Inu. He’s tried to bolt, so I got this self-standing gate to block our front door. It gives you room to step into the house without the threat of a pet bolting out the door. It doesn’t attach to the walls, and is sturdy. The dog doesn’t know he could knock it over if he really tried!

    Buyer Beware
Total piece of crap – was super flimsy had a crack in the top and (1) full panel was not even attached. All of the hinges were loose and about to fall off. It was also clearly someone else’s return that was then sent to me, the old mailing labels were blacked out on the box.

    Works well for our needs
It was super easy to install- it arrived assembled so it just required standing it up and placing the two braces in slots to make it stand. It’s on the taller side and it looks nice. The swinging door feature is nice for us to be able to go through without having to step over it. The barrier does feel a little bit flimsy. We got it for our puppy so it’s working fine but a larger dog would likely be able to push it out of the way.

It’s not bad… But not that good, either
It functions like a slatted wall should. It keeps my dogs from going where I don’t want them to. But the wood is so cheap the latch wore through in less than a week of moderate use. So now we use creative solutions. If I’d known, I would have chosen a different option.

Fragile gate (arrived damaged) but does wat I needed
The packaging arrived undamaged but the gate part was damaged in the packaging. The material for the locking pin part is quite flimsy (see photos). I also bought the extra stands to bring more stability.I have a frail old golden retriever so she does not attempt to push the barrier to go up stairs. The purpose of the gate is to keep her from going up and possibly slipping down and hurt herself.I have contacted the manufacturer to get replacement section for the gate but since this happened between Christmas and New Year, I have not had a response yet. Will keep you posted.Overall, I am satisfied because it does what I needed so I just need the gate section of the partition replaced.I will post updates on the resolution.

    Pricey but nice.
Sturdy and looks classy. Easy to .put away . I bought 2 for my 2 cats. I blocks the balcony door and the other I use to create a vestibule when entering my apartment. My cats stay away from them. Highly recommend

Not worth for the money – zero stars
I needed a gate I could to place at the bottom of the stairs that would easily allow going thru a heavy trafficked area and this one looked like it would work for that purpose, plus it seemed sturdy/well made… Oh, well, it’s not worth the money: first, the latch mechanism broke, probably within the first week or so of use, soI just started manually pushing in and pulling out the piston that secures the door (imaging doing that each time you have to go thru). Well, that task is now harder because the gate is falling apart, and I have to pull the gate up to allow for the piston to be at the same level of the hole… what a mess!! I wish I could return this gate.Overall, is very a very flimsy gate and could easily get knocked down by a medium dog, I actually had to secure one of the ends with a heavy object to avoid the gate from falling over. This is not worth, save you money and get something else
